Intelligent Cranium Helmets is developing a prototype helmet with a lot more electronic functionality than any other wise helmet obtainable or imagined. The iC-R functions twin complete-color heads-up displays, twin rear-facing cameras, a LiDAR rear collision alert technique, an electronically tinting visor, built-in Bluetooth communications, telephone connectivity, and a solar panel to help energy all this equipment. Can a helmet with this significantly future tech be realized with current batteries? Get authorized by DOT, Snell or ECE? ICH says yes, and that the company can do it for a retail price tag less than $ 1,600. According to the most recent update (1/six/2016) on the company’s website, ICH has entered into improvement agreements with:
- A solar power business that has the capabilities to create the entire energy system for the iC-R helmet, such as the: energy circuitry, batteries (which are light weight & will not explode on effect), and the solar panel of course.
- A prototyping organization with the capabilities to create the iC-R shell and other components for our initial physical prototype.
“The companies we’ve partnered with will start development in January 2016! We’re presently in discussions with a software program company that has the capabilities to develop: the principal software program for the iC-R helmet, our planned companion app, and considerably much more.”
