Group Suzuki Press Workplace – February 11.

Group Suzuki World MXGP Basic Manager Stefan Everts talks about taking more than Suzuki’s factory GP squad, winter coaching and pre-season races ahead of the MXGP Globe Championship gate drops at Qatar on February 27th. He says moving back to Suzuki, exactly where he won the 1st of his ten planet MX titles, was a choice that changed his life.

What a couple of crazy months it has been. My life has changed completely, but I do not regret my choice for a second. I’m still quite pleased and motivated and so far every thing is falling into place. What has created the whole procedure additional difficult, is the early start off of the GP season. Everything has been beneath pressure time-sensible. We are in full preparation with our riders, we go training with them in Spain and France, due to the fact of the climate it is impossible to keep in our area. Also, the mechanics are waiting on the spare components. We have been participating in some international pre-season races and we are testing more issues on the RM-Z450 and RM-Z250. In addition, the crates for the oversea races have to be packed and shipped. So many factors to do in such a brief period has created it incredibly tense and buzzy. Luckily, we have a excellent group and a fantastic crew with loads of expertise, so we are getting there.

I’ve also been away from residence a lot, joining the riders and the group on the instruction sessions. We went to the RedSand MX Park in Spain for a few weeks in January. Riding went so excellent and the riders where really pleased. I’m also genuinely pleased with how they are coaching with each other, pushing every single other to do better, studying and sharing their experience. It makes me content to see that we can have such a sturdy group spirit. It’s pushing all riders to the subsequent level in their capabilities.

You can see that the guys like it: Kevin’s speed this winter has been truly good. His self-assurance grew more than the previous couple of months and he is happy and satisfied with his RM-Z450. Also Ben is undertaking great. He had a tiny shock therapy with the Belgium and Dutch sand the final couple of weeks, but he is choosing-up quick and he grew so significantly the final couple of days. I’m pleased to be captain of those two guys in my 1st year as Basic Manager at Group Suzuki World MXGP.

They say, time is going by quickly when you are having enjoyable and this is really true. Our first race as a group is already in the history books. We went to Hawkstone last weekend and it was a good test for the group. General I was happy, even even though we had a small technical concern with Kevin, but it taught us a lot about the riding style of Kevin and Ben. They are both so distinct. For the first time we saw some big variations in setting-up the bikes. We really collected some essential information at the race in Hawkstone and the guys did great there. BT rode well and is up there with the top guys, speed-wise. Only his fitness demands to improve but I’m positive that this will come in the subsequent few weeks.

Our final quit ahead of the big MXGP season start in Qatar will be Valence. It is our last rehearsal. And we also have the pleasure to welcome Yamaguchi-san from Suzuki Japan for this race. He and the crew will fine-tune the bike for the best attainable outcomes. Hopefully we will have a miracle with the climate, so we can have some sunshine for the race. But we are ready for anything.

Personally I’m also quite excited to go to Qatar. The first GP is often particular. The whole family members comes back collectively once more, riders in new gear, new team set-ups and Qatar is particular, racing beneath the lights. It adds some class on Television and the pictures afterwards. Plus, we created some changes on our overseas set-up and I’m really pleased with the final final results. Just watch and see!
